So, i graduated. The ceremony was at 9 this morning (or yesterday morning by now). The ceremony wasn't anything epic, but it was really cool that my family came en masse. My parents and John and Anne and my Uncle Mike and Aunt Gayle all showed up and my grandparents almost did but weren't able to. It was really encouraging to me, especially having Anne and John there.
With all of the graduation gifts, i'm almost done with support-raising (which rocks). The really encouraging thing is knowing that my family is so supportive of this, even though we don't exactly know what all we will be doing yet.
The thing i am most concerned about is how discouraged i've been without an explanation. Sheryl encountered so much resistence going into this trip (and has done a fantastic job of seeking God in it), but everyone's supporting me. My battle seems to be more internal; i still feel disconnected from God and i don't want to go into a summer of good work without any energy. More importantly, i don't want to be disconnected from him. He's got a plan though.

The Basics
I've never made a blog before (I feel like I've sold out a little, but I'm ok with it heh), but I think this will be the best way to keep everyone updated on the trip this summer.
I will be going to Monterrey, Mexico as part of a two-person team sent by Fellowship Church. My cohort is Sheryl, a good friend in my homegroup. We'll be going to work with a sister church to Fellowship that is reaching university students. We don't rightly know what exactly we'll be doing, but the pastor of the church there has said he has lots we can help with.
My biggest hope for the trip is that we'll be an encouragement to the church down there. I think we'll do much more learning than we will teaching, but I'm very ok with that, too. This trip is also important to me because I'm trying to figure out if this is what God wants me to do with my life.
We're leaving June 1st and getting back August 3rd; flying in and out. I'm starting to get really excited as all the pieces are falling into place...
